Meet the Attorneys Behind the Strategy
Lydia is a partner with Nardiello Turanchik Tompkins LLP. Lydia started her career as a trial attorney with the United States Department of Justice, Tax Division, in Washington, D.C. After seven years with the government, Lydia has been in private practice as an associate and then partner at a prominent boutique tax controversy firm before forming Nardiello Turanchik LLP with Chad Nardiello in early 2020.
Lydia handles litigation and tax controversy matters against the United States Department of Justice, the Internal Revenue Service, the California state taxing authorities (including the Franchise Tax Board, the Board of Equalization, the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, the California Office of Tax Appeals, and the Employment Development Division) and the L.A. City Office of Finance. She has handled tax disputes at all levels, including audit, appeal, settlement, litigation and collection. She is admitted to practice in California and Massachusetts and is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the Central and Eastern Districts of California, and the United States Tax Court.
Lydia received an LL.M. in taxation from Boston University, a J.D. from Vermont Law School, where she was editor-in-chief of the Vermont Law Review, and a B.A. from Tufts University in political science. Lydia presents on tax controversy matters for the American Bar Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Lawyers Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Pasadena Bar Association, the San Fernando Bar Association, the CalCPA Education Foundation, and various CalCPA discussion groups.
